The reason we run 36exp Photography Workshops is because we want to give photographers the skills they need to take better photos. So, the most satisfying thing to see is the results produced by previous participants of our workshops.
The image featured in this post is by Hugh Fane. Hugh came along to one of our Studio Lighting Workshops a few months ago, he then booked the studio for himself, found a model, and applied what he had learnt.
Hugh is a talented photographer, and that is what enabled him to take this photo, but I would like to think that the workshop gave him a small nudge in the right direction.
There is a lot to like about this image. The composition, lighting, post production, and a strong narrative all combine to make it really stand out.
So, well done to Hugh on a great result.

You have done well to get this guy to this level, I agree good lighting, film noir feel, would like to see a tighter crop version too. Maybe a darker background with a smoke effect would be nice. #simonmurray
