Matt Whitbourne attended the 36exp Creative & Street Photography Workshop in October, and then applied some of what he learned during a trip to Vietnam. One of Matt’s images is shared here, and more can be seen on his Flickr site.
Matt shared his thoughts on how attending the Creative & Street Photography Workshop changed his photography:
‘The main things that I would say has changed is that I spend a lot more time thinking about the other articles that might appear in the shot other than the main subject. I’m leaning towards shots that attempt to have a narrative so I like to get a lot in focus, however I’m increasingly conscious of anything that draws attention in a negative way, which is something I became very aware of in the workshop. In general I think I’m looking at things much more analytically after the workshop and trying to separate the things I shoot between ‘Interesting memory joggers’ and things that others may appreciate if they have no prior knowledge of the people, place or context.’
